I wanted to try to go another week without grocery shopping which means we are basically out of everything. The only grains we have are cheerios, brown rice, and oatmeal. I didn't want to eat cheerios without milk (I used the rest for breakfast). I didn't want to eat left overs from last night (made a variation of this, used red onion instead of yellow onion and I think it turned out disgusting. The color of the red onion faded into the rice and lentils making it look all mushroomy colored with hint of purple. I don't even want to look at it; at least Josh liked it). I only like oatmeal chilled with yogurt and fruit (out of yogurt). Picky, picky, I know. So I decided to make whole wheat tortillas using this recipe. They turned out delicious, tons better than the store bought ones we get from Costco. We usually get the low-carb WW kind. The Costco kind are only 80 calories, but it's hard to taste anything but the tortilla when they're used.

Anyway, I had Josh buy a roller after work to make them easier to make. They were super easy (only 5 ingredients) and cheap to make. They're around 100-120 calories which is about the same amount of calories in a slice of the WW bread we usually get so actually not bad and a really nice alternative. More calories than the store bought kind, but these taste real, if that makes sense, and taste so much better like I already mentioned. Josh liked them a lot too and said we should just make these from now on. Mmm, they were so good.

I still can't wait to go grocery shopping this weekend. The reason I made that lentil and brown rice dish was because we are out of chicken. Lentils was our next source of protein. I'll make that dish again, but never again with red onion. I'll post a picture of that dish if I get around to opening the casserole dish. Ick.
